With only two weeks to go until we meet Dean, emotions are at an all-time high. There is not a day that goes by where I do not feel the need to tear up — whether it be after feeling my son’s little kicks, coming across a cute new baby item, or thinking of all the prayers said to get us to today. It should not be a surprise, then, that when the amazing photographer (Photography by A. J. Crumley) shared our recent maternity shoot photos I cried and cried and cried.

Originally thinking we may have to take photos in a studio, the Michigan weather shifted for the better on the day of our shoot. After four days of sub-20 degrees and snow, the day of the shoot was a brisk 55 degrees with a light breeze. This meant we were able to venture to one of our favorite camping spots: Warren Dunes State Park. Nestled along Lake Michigan, Warren Dunes offered both a wooded and beach setting for our photos and the results are fantastic…

Even the dunes seemed to be playing in our favor. Following the winter winds, this little dollop of a dune acted as the perfect stage for the finale of the shoot. My feet may have been freezing, but look at those COLORS!

I am simply in love with each image.

As we inch closer and closer to our due date, it is with so much love that I thank each and every soul who has been praying for this pregnancy. It took many sleepless nights and salty tears to get to this point. We cannot wait to meet our little rainbow on April 21st!
